Course Overview:

This exceptional program provides a professional qualification in valuation to those who hold a three-year degree in an appropriate discipline, for example, architecture, building, quantity surveying, planning, commerce, business, law, or engineering plus at least one year of relevant professional work experience.

Objectives:

The purpose of the graduate diploma is to provide graduates in cognate disciplines with sufficient valuation theory and practice to achieve recognition as a certified practicing valuer (after a requisite period of industry experience).

The course aims to develop skills in property valuation and is designed to:

  • enhance existing qualifications;
  • extend the knowledge obtained in earlier studies to include property valuation;
  • extend proficiency in technical and managerial aspects of property;
  • gain an understanding of property concepts;
  • have the background knowledge at the completion of the course necessary for entry to the valuation profession and/or for further academic studies.

Course Structure & Available Subjects: Students select 100 points of Level 6 and Level 8 Property and Construction subjects in consultation with the course coordinator. Students may wish to specialise in either Construction or Property subjects.

Entry Requirements:

Entry to the Graduate Diploma in Property Valuation requires a pass degree in a cognate discipline including Commerce, Business, Planning, Architecture, Building, Quantity Surveying, Law and Engineering and at least one year of relevant professional work experience.

Application Closing Dates

  • 30 November for commencement in Semester 1 (March)
  • 31 May for commencement in Semester 2 (July)
  • International applicants should apply by 30 April for commencement in Semester 2 (July)
