Mr Peter AshfordSubject Overview: | This subject is an extension of the structural behaviour, design and construction detailing covered in Construction Technology 2A and 2B. The structural design concepts are extended and related to the varying construction techniques required. More advanced aspects of design detailing, documentation and construction methods for the following: precast concrete building systems including tilt slab construction; basements and site retention; industrial pavements; steel portal frames and steel frame systems. |

Assessment: | One three-hour examination (70%). Written and drawn assignments equivalent to not more that 2000 words (30%). Regardless of assignment results, a minimum grade of 40% must be achieved in the examination in order to pass the subject. |
