Subject Overview:

This is an advanced subject in which students learn to discuss, read and write with confidence about a wide variety of topics in Indonesian. Indonesian reading materials include a variety of short literary texts and articles about current events in Indonesia.

Assessment: A 2-hour examination 50% (due during the examination period), a 5-minute oral examination 10% (due during the examination period), three essays of 500 words each, together 30% (due early semester, mid-semester and late semester) and continuous class participation 10%. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.

Breadth Options: This subject is a level 2 or level 3 subject and is not available to new generation degree students as a breadth option in 2008.
This subject or an equivalent will be available as breadth in the future.
Breadth subjects are currently being developed and these existing subject details can be used as guide to the type of options that might be available.
2009 subjects to be offered as breadth will be finalised before re-enrolment for 2009 starts in early October.
