Course Overview:

The graduate certificate provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in Australian studies. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique. The certificate is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study in Australian studies.

Students who complete the graduate certificate will:

  • develop a knowledge of one or more areas in the study of Australian studies;
  • understand the main theories and concepts relating to these areas of study;
  • understand the major political processes, institutions, issues, ideas and other phenomena involved in specific areas of Australian studies;
  • appreciate the significance of these ideas and issues in the context of Australian studies as an area of study;
  • develop skills of analysis in relation to specific areas of Australian studies.

The minimum entry requirement is:

  • an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
