Subject Overview: |
An advanced study of the training of children and adolescents in classical ballet. Planning the teaching year(s) is examined. There are practical teaching sessions involving ballet students of the appropriate age and level of training. Advanced Pointe Work is studied. Basic partnering skills in the study of Pas de Deux technique are also taught. Assessing and reporting skills are analysed. |

Participation and contribution to tutorials and classes (10%); the structure and composition of a Pointe Work exercises taught in a practical situation at the end of the Week 6 (30%); a written presentation of 1,000 words at the end of the Semester (20%); the structure and composition of a classical ballet class for Years 4 8 taught in a practical situation at the end of Semester 2 (40%) |
