The subject will present and discuss the various nuances including story telling, poetry, eloquent and stimulating lyric writing, development in conjunction with melody, advance harmonic and rhythmic development, world styles, form, structure, arranging techniques, in turn engaging the participant in further development and challenging artistic pathways. The Creative Songwriter is delivered in two parts: lecture and workshop. The lecture is taught in a large group format and will concentrate on exploring the songwriter’s creative pathways, examining style (lyrical and musical), melodic and chordal breadth, as well as genre and form structure/arrangement.
