This subject will be taught off-campus (online) Course materials will be distributed via mail to students. Administration is via e-mail. The course is 1 semester full-time or 2 semesters part-time via distance education. A semester duration is 12 weeks. Subject Overview: |
Students are required to complete 50 clinical ultrasound cases in the workplace, and submit a logbook of cases. In addition, 50 advanced clinical ultrasound cases will be provided for interpretation and reporting to provide a range of rare cases that are unlikely to be encountered in normal daily practice. |

Assessment: |
100% of assessment: Interpretation of case studies assessed by structured questions pertaining to each case (5 MCQ per case). Total time is 500 minutes (5000 words equivalent). Due prior to semester completion. Note: Each case study has learning, feedback and assessment components. After review of materials the student completes a report form and then compares that to the tutor report. This is reinforced by a summary of key findings and learning points, which is available after completion of their initial report. The structured MCQ relates to the case and forms the assessment component. After submission of the ACQ for scoring, they are provided further feedback on their answers and an explanation provided. Hurdle requirement: Submission of logbook of 50 clinical ultrasound cases performed in the students’ workplace. Due prior to semester completion. |
