This subject covers international frameworks of community cultural development including approaches to international development initiatives, educational and cultural institution programming, philanthropic agendas, and social innovation work in relation to creativity and community contexts. Students will learn material necessary for project conceptual development, organisational management and the brokering of strategic partnerships at local and global levels. It will assist students to strategically frame their work in local, national and international contexts of arts and community practice.

On completion of this subject, the student should be able to:

• demonstrate the capacity to develop and realise an independent research project
• display an ability for intellectual discourse and analysis
• confidently communicate written skills
• exhibit the skills to interpret, analyse and problem solve
• demonstrate an ability to engage with contemporary arts and community practice theory

• 3000 word literature review or equivalent as approved by course coordinator, due in first half of semester (30%)
• 7000 word essay (arts practice report, organisational or project evaluation, industry report, etc) or equivalent as approved by course coordinator, due at the end of semester in assessment period (70%)

This subject is not available as a breadth subject.

On completion of this subject, the student should be able to:
