Overview: |
Honours in Anthropology consists of a 50-point thesis, one 12.5-point compulsory subject, and a 37.5-point coursework component in the combining area of study. Honours requires a major in Anthropology with an average of at least H2A (75%) in second and third-year subjects within the major, or equivalent. Anthropology’s global comparative scope is complemented by a local focus; its unique perspective is made possible by intensive participation in the daily life and language of the communities studied. Contemporary social anthropology asks broad and detailed questions about what it means to be human in a globalising world, as well as providing a critical vantage point from which to reflect on ourselves and others. The year-long course enables you to extend your knowledge of Anthropology through higher level coursework subjects and an independent research thesis with the guidance of an academic supervisor. |
