Overview:

A major in English and Theatre Studies with an average of at least H2A (75%) in second and third-year subjects within the major, or equivalent.

Structure & Available Subjects:

Students undertaking pure honours in English and Theatre must complete:

  • ENGL40023 English & Theatre Studies Thesis (50 points);
  • MULT50001 Research Principles and Practices (*see note below) (12.5 points); and
  • three honours subjects in English and Theatre (37.5 points).

Students undertaking combined honours in English and Theatre and another discipline must complete:

  • ENGL40023 English & Theatre Studies (50 points);
  • MULT50001 Research Principles and Practices (*see note below) (12.5 points);
  • three honours subjects in the combining program (37.5 points).

OR

  • Honours thesis in the combining program (50 points);
  • research methodology subject in the combining program (12.5 points); and
  • three honours subjects in English and Theatre (37.5 points)

TOTAL: 100 points

*Note: Students must undertake MULT50001 Research Principles and Practices in the first semester of their English Thesis enrolment.
