This course consists of advanced-level classes that explore history as a craft and a profession, sampling a range of topics and approaches. Students deepen their knowledge of periods, regions, and themes in history; of how historians approach the writing of history; and how to analyse original sources and construct and evaluate historical arguments. Students write research essays based on original research. The course develops marketable skills in research, critical analysis, written and oral communication, and argumentation. |
