Subject Overview:

Building on the skills acquired in 740-530 Piano Duo and Duet 1, students will further develop their techniques as duo and duet pianists and study selected repertoire, drawing from a range of the more advanced repertoire of the duo and duet literature from the 18th century to the present day.
Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  • Prepare and perform a duo and duet program with technical confidence and musical skill;
  • Demonstrate rehearsal and communication skills in the preparation of advanced and diverse duo and duet repertoire.
Assessment:

Satisfactory attendance and participation, rehearsal journal (10%); 30-minute performance of approved repertoire in an end-of-semester test (90%).

  • Development of teamwork skills in the duo/duet pianist role including rehearsal techniques.
