Subject Overview: |
This 12.5-point subject is a core and foundational subject of the Postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H). It is designed to provide requisite learning in tropical and global health upon which students will build during subsequent subjects for the course. The content includes terminology, concepts and data relating to tropical disease and global health, as well essentials of epidemiology and biostatistics method of importance to practitioners of tropical health. Students will have the opportunity to enhance critical appraisal skills, and their overall health literacy, in relation to tropical health publications and information. This subject will comprise a series of online presentations each linked to assessment tasks. Students must complete this subject before progressing to other subjects within the DTM&H. |
