Subject Overview:

A series of weekly seminars consisting of:

  • Presentation of papers by students on issues relating to the art and method of composition;
  • Special topics on current issues in composition and contemporary music led by members of the academic staff or visiting composers and performers.
Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this subject, student should have broadened their knowledge of diversity in compositional method, and developed an ability to communicate clearly regarding their own artistic enterprise.

Assessment:

Each student must present, to the satisfaction of the course coordinator, at least one paper related to their field of study.

The presentation should be of 40 minutes followed by 20 minutes of discussion led by the student.

Assessment is on a Pass-Fail basis.
