The minimum level of performance required for chamber music would be equivalent to AMEB A. Mus. A or a very high grade for VCE solo performance.

It is University policy to take all reasonable steps to minimise the impact of disability upon academic study, and reasonable adjustments will be made to enhance a student's participation in the University's programs. Students will develop their techniques as chamber players and study selected repertoire to performance standard.

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

• show technical development as chamber music players
• perform selected repertoire to concert standard
• demonstrate a capacity to think critically and independently in matters of corporate style, sonority, balance, ensemble, phrasing, blending and musical gesture
• identify the broad and diverse cultural references of the chamber music literature
• apply time and people management skills to rehearsal and performance planning
• utilize teamwork skills in rehearsal/performance groups numbering from two to ten persons.

Satisfactory attendance, active participation and preparation of parts (30%); concert standard presentation of two smaller works or one large-scale work at the end of semester (70%)

Less than 80% class attendance will result in a fail.

This subject is not available as a breadth subject.
