Subject Overview:

The development and presentation of a work in progress and its critical evaluation and discussion with artistic peers. The practical exploration of ideas and concepts for a new work. The development of appropriate work plans, rehearsal processes, methods and resource frameworks.
Learning Outcomes:

On completing this subject students will have:

  • ability to conceptualise and develop new work;
  • capacity to give form to performance concepts;
  • ability to critically evaluate work in progress and respond constructively;
  • ability to contextualise personal artistic practice within relevant fields;
  • ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in a new work in progress;
  • capacity to develop strategies in response to critical perceptions;
  • ability to manage all aspects of a developmental project including resources.
Assessment:

Presentation of choreographic materials (20 minutes)50%
Project work plan (1000 words) 10%
Creative development presentation (30 minutes) 20%
Written documentation of creative process to no more than 3000 words 20%
