Subject Overview: |
The student will select an appropriate dance work (solo or duet) from which to research and perform a short excerpt in consultation with her/his tutor. The selected work must not be one which forms part of the course of study during the student's period of enrolment. Students are required to research and analyse the background of the choreographer and the chosen work, the production elements, the aesthetic values of the work and its cultural context, and its place in the choreographer's chronology of work. |

End of semester 1 - Research essay of 3500 words (40%); performance of the solo/duet before a panel (40%); viva voce before a panel (20%). |
