The nature and behaviour, and appropriate repair and conservation, of the materials of historic buildings, including stone; clay products; mortars; plasters and renders; timber; and metals.

To be able to recognise architectural materials; diagnose deterioration mechanisms; and propose solutions for their repair and conservation.
