Course Overview:

This course aims to provide advanced training in the Earth Sciences.
Learning Outcomes:

To provide advanced training in the Earth Sciences to candidates from Australia and overseas.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:

Students will undertake a total of 50 points of 400-level studies divided into two 25 point subjects.

Together these two subjects consist of 8 week-long workshop-style intensive modules to be taken over 12 weeks
(for students undertaking full time study). As with the existing BSc (Hons) program, the
individual modules can be selected from a range of electives offered each year in the VIEPS
Handbook. VIEPS is the Victorian Institute of Earth and Planetary Science, comprising the Schools of Earth Science at the
University of Melbourne and Monash University, who have been collaborating in Honours and post-graduate teaching since 1989.
Subject Options:

Students will undertake a total of 50 points of 400-level studies divided into two 25 point subjects.
Entry Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science degree specialising in Earth Sciences, or a Bachelor of Science degree with a background or work experience in Earth Sciences.
Core Participation Requirements:

Further Study:

This course offers a pathway to both the Earth Sciences stream of the Postgraduate Diploma in Science and the Master of Earth Science.

  • gained an in-depth knowledge in a particular discipline.
