Overview:

The minimum entry requirement for geography honours is completion of all the requirements for the BA, with a major in geography, and an average grade over the second/third year subjects within the major equivalent to at least an H2A (75%). Students should note that the geography program offers a pure honours stream only.

It is not possible to complete honours in geography on a part time basis. Students must complete the honours year full-time over two consecutive semesters of study.

Structure & Available Subjects:

Students undertaking pure honours in geography must complete:

  • A combination of two Core Research subjects (total 75 points); and
  • One Core Coursework subject (12.5 points); and
  • One Honours Selective subject (12.5 points)

Total 100 points

Subject Options:

Students must complete a combination of two of these subjects (GEOG40002 and GEOG40008; or 2 x GEOG40007) to make up 75 points.
