Course content includes:

• Management issues in mental health service delivery
• Components of youth mental health services
• Integration of components into a system of care
• Interfaces between youth mental health services and the wider community
• Users and carers as partners
• Innovation in youth mental health: Putting values into practice

By the end of this subject students should be able to:

• Articulate the principles of underlying youth mental health care
• Outline the planning process for youth mental health services
• Describe the components of youth mental health services
• Understand youth mental health within the wider community context
• Understand the roles of users and carers in youth mental health
• Design, implement and evaluate innovative approaches to youth mental health

• 25% weekly quizzes on lecture content (4 multiple choice questions per week for 5 weeks and 5 multiple choice questions in the last week = 25 questions in all)
• 25% graded contribution to discussion board (weekly contributions to the graded discussion board constituting one original post and at least one follow up post, totally a minimum of 12 posts in all. Forum receives an overall grade according to marking criteria)
• 50% major assignment (service proposal), 3,000 words due Week 6 of the subject
