Subject Overview: |
This subject investigates the development of jazz music and its musical offshoots from the beginning of the 20th Century through to the present day. Music will be listened to, discussed from an aesthetic viewpoint and sometimes analysed. The main focus of the subject will be on jazz as improvised music and how the music developed through the artistic vision of certain individual players. |
