Screen Language 2B follows from Screen language 2A by covering major aspects of direction on a film set depending on the strand of study. This subject puts into practical terms the discussion and analysis of film directing styles and approaches that was studied in Screen Language 2A. This subject is delivered as an intensive production period depending on the strand of study.

This subject will:
• demonstrate directorial techniques for all aspects of filmmaking including camera/sound/editing/art direction/performance in the student’s major production;
• create the mise-en-scene construction of scenes for the screen and deliver within their major production;
• demonstrate an ability to articulate visual storytelling.

Related Industry Folio:
Students research and provide a comprehensive folio intended for marketing and distributing their major production. Including all short documents and photographs (50% of total mark).

Director’s Paper:
Self critical assessment paper including working methodology (2000 words, 50% of total mark).
