Not less than 65% in Practical Study 3-2 or Music Performance 6, or a successful 30 minute audition for eligible applicants.

It is University policy to take all reasonable steps to minimise the impact of disability upon academic study, and reasonable adjustments will be made to enhance a student's participation in the University's programs. Students will develop instrumental, vocal or conducting technique to a level appropriate to a fourth year of study and a sophisticated awareness of the stylistic and interpretative characteristics of the repertory studies.

On completion of the subject, students should be able to:

• perform technically based repertoire with fluency;

• identify and develop musically appropriate solutions for technical difficulties;

• evaluate and respond to technical demands in selected repertoire; and

• respond with musical understanding to the aesthetic qualities of technical ­repertoire.

A 15-minute technical examination at the end of the semester of approved technical repertoire (100%); teacher's report and recommended grading; satisfactory attendance at instrumental or vocal class and attendance at concert class. Students must have attended all applicable classes in order to complete the subject.

This subject is not available as a breadth subject.

Students who have studied this subject should develop and enhance:

• problem solving skills
• skills in critical thinking and self-evaluation.
