Subject Overview:

This subject is seen as fundamental in the development of aural comprehension in music. It will embrace tonal and atonal musics, western and non-western concepts, unacompanied and accompanied repertoire.
Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should have

  • a knowledge of the choral repertoire;
  • the ability to sing in various sized groups unaccompanied;
  • an awareness of singing within a balanced ensemble and the ability to adjust tonally and dynamically when necessary.
Assessment:

Continuous: Preparation and commitment as demonstrated by performance tasks and/or a regularly updated journal of activities embracing all areas studied (100%) - Hurdle requirement 80% attendance.
