Students will receive tuition in their area of practical study. Vocal and instrumental students will develop their technique and awareness of the stylistic and nterpretative characteristics of the repertory studied with an individually designed program of technically-based repertoire in preparation for an end-of-semester examination.

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

• perform technically based repertoire with increasing fluency
• develop solutions for technical difficulties
• evaluate technical demands in selected repertoire
• respond musically to the aesthetic qualities of technical repertoire.

Vocal and instrumental students: a fifteen-minute technical examination at the end of the semester of approved technical repertoire (100%); satisfactory teacher’s report indicating progress made toward the examination; and satisfactory attendance at instrumental or vocal class and at concert class throughout the semester
