Enrolment in the Health specialisation of the Master of Information Technology, with completion of 50 points at graduate level excluding the following subjects:

• COMP90038 Algorithms and Complexity
• COMP90041 Programming and Software Development

This subject involves in-depth investigation of a significant problem related to Health IT. The subject also provides students with skills and knowledge for analysing and solving problems, and enhanced written and oral communication skills.

Upon successful completion of this subject students should be able to:

• Independently investigate topic areas relating to Health IT
• Synthesise work related to the topic of study
• Write and present a proposal and report

• 1,000 word project proposal, due at the end of week 4 (10%). Addresses ILO 1, 2

• 20 minute presentation, including answering audience questions, of the project or demonstration of a working system, due in the final week of semester (10%). Addresses ILO 4

• 8000-10000 word project report, due in the final week of semester (80%). Addresses ILO 3, 4

To pass the subject, students must obtain at least 50% in each of these 3 components.

This subject is not available as a breadth subject.

On successful completion of this subject students should be able to:
