Subject Overview: |
The student will negotiate a suitable thesis topic with a supervisor, attend meetings and supervision sessions as required. Enrolment in the thesis is across two consecutive semesters and students must enrol in the subject in each semester to ensure they are meeting the full 50 point requirement for the year-long subject. |

Assessment: |
15000 words or equivalent 100% (due at the end of the second consecutive semester of enrolment). Up to 50% of the thesis can be creative work. The dissertation must be at least 50% of the weighting, and can contribute more than this. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of supervision meetings in order to qualify to have their written work assessed. Any student who fails to meet this hurdle without valid reason will not be eligible to pass the subject. All required written work must be submitted in order to pass the subject. Essays submitted after the due date without an extension will be penalised 2% per day. Essays submitted after two weeks of the assessment due date without a formally approved application for special consideration or an extension will only be marked on a pass/fail basis if accepted. |
