English Language specialisation

Coursework only

• four core subjects (50 points) (one undergraduate core subject in the first 100 points for the program, at least one graduate core subject from List A and at least two graduate core subjects from List B)
• twelve elective subjects (150 points) ( up to three which can be undergraduate subjects which must be taken in the first 100 points of the program)

OR Coursework and Minor Thesis

• four core subjects (50 points) (one undergraduate core subject in the first 100 points for the program, at least one graduate core subject from List A and at least two graduate core subjects from List B)
• ten elective subjects (125 points) (up to three which can be undergraduate subjects which must be taken in the first 100 points of the program)
• Minor Thesis (25 points)

Students taking LING 90010 Minor Thesis should have completed or be concurrently enrolled in LING90003 Research in Applied Linguistics.

Undergraduate Core Subjects

Students enrolled in the English Language specialisation should take at least one of the following Undergraduate Core subjects as part of the first 100 points of the program.

Graduate Core Subjects - A

Students enrolled in the English Language specialisation should take at least one of the following Graduate Core subjects from List A.

Graduate Core Subjects - B

Students enrolled in the English Language specialisation should take at least two of the following Graduate Core subjects from List B.

Undergraduate Elective Subjects

Students can select up to three of the following elective subjects as part of their first 100 points of the program.

Graduate Elective Subjects

Students can select up to nine of the following elective subjects.

Presenting Academic Discourse is only available to students of non English speaking background.

Students taking LING 90010 Minor Thesis should have completed or be concurrently enrolled in LING90003 Research in Applied Linguistics.
