Ancient Greek

The Diploma in Languages provides students with the opportunity to gain a Diploma in Ancient Greek while completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne.

The Diploma consists of a three-year sequence of first-, second- and third-year language study and may add up to one year to the duration of the student’s degree course. See the Diploma course structure for details.

A Diploma in Languages (Ancient Greek) comprises 100 points consisting of:

• 25 points of language subjects at level 1
• 37.5 points at level 2 comprising two language subjects and one elective
• 37.5 points at level 3 comprising two language subjects and one elective

Ancient Greek - Level 1

Students completing the Diploma in Ancient Greek must complete either:

• Ancient Greek 1 and Ancient Greek 2 (25 points); or
• Intensive Ancient Greek 1 and Ancient Greek 2 (25 points).

Ancient Greek - Level 2

Students completing the Diploma in Ancient Greek are required to complete the following language subjects at level 2 (25 points).

Students are also required to complete one Level 2 elective from the list below (12.5 points).
