Overview: |
Primary care refers to the care a patient receives upon first contact with the health care system, before referral elsewhere within the system, as well as the care received after exiting hospital. The aim of primary care is to provide the patient with a broad spectrum of preventive and curative care over a period of time as well as to coordinate all of the care the patient receives. Primary care research is multidisciplinary and aims to improve the evidence base for best practice in the primary care setting. This specialisation will allow a focus on the aspects of research method which are particular to primary care research or on a content area of particular relevance to this setting. |
