The Specialist Certificate will run again during 2012. With the opening of the new Royal Children’s Hospital scheduled for late 2011 and the relocation of all services to the new building, we are unable to provide specific teaching dates at this time. Students interested in enrolling in 2012 can register their interest in the course by emailing the Project Manager at scipop@mccp.unimelb.edu.au . Subject Overview: |
This subject is designed to advance the student’s knowledge and skill in the assessment and management of orthopaedic conditions commonly encountered in physiotherapist led orthopaedic outpatient clinics. Students will gain an understanding of the structure, normal function and pathologic dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system, and gain skills in performing a comprehensive musculoskeletal screening examination for children. The subject is intended to provide the student with the necessary understanding to formulate evaluative clinical decisions in the assessment and management of paediatric orthopaedic conditions. Students will have an opportunity to observe physiotherapist led outpatient clinics. |
