Subject Overview: |
Students will undertake this subject as fully participating members of a selected partner Opera company (such as the Victorian Opera Company). Through involvement in principal roles as appropriate, students will further develop a variety of advanced operatic skills, knowledge and understandings though rehearsals and practical workshops that will include vocal coaching, acting, stagecraft and movement training, role development and characterisation, and ensemble work. Students will receive thorough technical and artistic training to cope with all stylistic demands of their singing voice and develop a practical knowledge of repertoire covering all major styles of opera.
