Subject Overview: |
Students will undertake this subject as fully participating members of the Victorian Opera Company at its rehearsal and performance studios located at Horti Hall in Victoria Street, Melbourne. Through involvement with Victorian Opera in principal roles as appropriate, students will be involved in further developing a variety of advanced operatic skills, knowledge and understandings though rehearsals and practical workshops that will include vocal coaching, acting, stagecraft and movement training, role development and characterisation, and ensemble work. Students will receive thorough technical and artistic training to cope with all stylistic demands of their singing voice and develop a practical knowledge of repertoire covering all major styles of opera.
