Special Research Subject B

This subject has the following teaching availabilities in 2012:

2 contact hours/ week, 8 additional hours/week. Total of 10 hours per week.

Students who have completed 116-449 Special Research Subject A: Imaginary Lives may not enrol in this subject.

This subject is designed to allow students to develop their analytical and research skills in French literary studies. Students will present their research in French in both oral and written form by means of class presentations, class discussions and essay writing.

• demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a particular cultural or linguistic topic.
• demonstrate the ability to analyse, and to report on their reading in a manner appropriate to the methodology adopted.

Written work totalling 5000 words 100% (commencing at the beginning of semester and due at the end of the subject).

This subject has the following hurdle requirements:

• Regular participation in tutorials is required with a minimum of 80% attendance.
• All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject.

Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day and in-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked.

This subject is not available as a breadth subject.
