Subject Overview: |
This subject will focus on a number of texts in contemporary Italian, to acquaint students with different writing strategies. There will be emphasis on advanced literary and non-literary translation. On completion of this subject, students should have refined their linguistic skills, both written and oral. acquired the skills to translate from and into Italian texts in different registers. and have acquired the ability to discuss in Italian, both orally and in writing, extended prose texts, literary and non-literary. |

Assessment: |
Written work consisting of three assignments of 650 words each 50% (during semester), a 15-minute oral presentation class paper 20% (commencing at the beginning of semester and due at the end of semester) and a written project on translation 1500 words 30% (due during the exam period). This subject has the following hurdle requirements:
Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day and in-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked.
