Subject Overview: |
Students will further develop their ability to read, discuss and write in Indonesian about social, political, cultural issues in Indonesia and beyond. Gender and class issues will be investigated through the reading and discussion of a novel and a variety of research papers. Students will write critical essays on these issues and present them in standard academic Indonesian. |

Assessment: |
A 1000 word essay 20% (due early semester), a 20 minutes class presentation 20% (due mid semester), an in-class test 20% (due late semester), a 1500 word essay 30% (due during the examination period) and continuous class participation 10%. |
