Subject Overview:

Science topics covered in this subject will demonstrate effective and motivating ways to incorporate the big ideas of science into the primary classroom program. Comprehensive unpacking of the science and technology ideas in topics will be explored and investigated in a practical manner that provides sound pedagogical approaches, resources and strategies for innovative primary teachers. Sources of teaching materials, equipment and resources appropriate to the primary school level are incorporated.

Semester 1: A teaching report (equivalent to 1000 words) that is related to a primary science topic will be constructed (20%),

Semester 2: A written teaching report (1000 words) and the construction of a technological artifact relating to the teaching of primary technology (20%)

A 2-hour examination based on the whole year's study (60%).
