Subject Overview:

This subject provides an extension of skills in one area from the two modules completed in Production Skills 2A. Selection of the module is made in consultation with the Subject Coordinator.
Objectives:

Following completion of this subject, students should have

  • a greater ability to translate, interpret and/or execute designs in their respective area. Students should also have further developed methods of executing and manipulating of materials and technology required in performance production and developed more methods for evaluating and costing the performance production;
  • developed additional advanced communication skills (written, visual and oral) appropriate to their respective area of performance production and developed the confidence and ability to deal professionally with people from a wide range of performance arts.
Assessment:

Practical and written assignments (80%); participation (20%).

Students will not normally be allowed to continue in an area in which they have failed to achieve a satisfactory grade of H3 or above.

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate capacities for artistic imagination, creativity, transformation and interpretation;
  • critically and creatively engage with topics of cultural significance across the broader community.
