This unit is designed to develop an appreciation of the value of economic reasoning in solving business problems and to develop the fundamental economic analytical skills required in managerial decision making

Objectives:

Students who successfully complete this unit should:

• Be able to use supply/ demand analysis to solve economics problems
• Appreciate different market types and conditions, pricing strategies
• Understand the concepts of value and added value;
• Understand key elements of macroeconomic frameworks and policy

Assessment: Two tests of one-hour or equivalent (10% each)
One assignment of 2000 words (30%)
Final two-hour examination (50%)
