This subject consolidates student's Japanese knowledge and enables communication on various everyday topics in Japanese. Various reading and listening materials are introduced to enhance student's communication skills on a range of topics. Students will learn a further 75 kanji (Chinese characters). Students are also introduced to various aspects of Japanese culture. Computer laboratory instruction will support the curriculum. |

Five in-class quizzes of 200 words 20% (throughout the semester), a speaking test 15% (due at the end of the semester), a composition task 10% (due mid semester), a 30-minute listening test 10 % (due at the end of semester), a final examination (due during the examination period) 45%. Class attendance is required for this subject; if you do not attend a minimum of 80% of classes without an approved exemption you will not be eligible for a pass in this subject. Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day. In-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked. All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject. |
