Time Commitment: | Contact Hours: 270 hours comprised of: 7 weeks x 5 days (7.5 hours per day) agency-based placement, including 2 x 3 hour university-based integrative seminars; 1 day of university and agency-based field preparation. These contact hours are part of the accreditation requirements set by the Australian Association of Social Workers. Subject Overview: | This fieldwork subject requires students to attend university and agency-based field preparation seminars, and complete the first 35 days of the first agency-based field placement required within the MSW course. The goal of this placement is to develop foundation level social work practice and intervention skills and demonstrate beginning competence in the key areas of learning. The placement occurs as an intensive learning experience, outside of the coursework timetable. |
