Subject Overview:

Research on a selected topic to be approved by the convenor of German, in consultation with the thesis supervisor.
Objectives:
  • write a thesis of 30 000 words on a research project dealing with an area of Germanic Studies.
  • demonstrate an ability to present, argue and hypothesise on an issue in Germanic studies, supported by research and analysis.
  • demonstrate aptitude for original research at a high degree level.
Assessment: A thesis of 30 000 words (normally written in English).
