This subject uses authentic written and audio-visual texts to expand students' ability to understand, speak and write German. On completion of the subject students should have attained a moderate level of complexity in speaking, aural comprehension, reading and writing of German and a level of competency required for admittance into GERM10002 (German Intermediate Language &Culture B) . |

A 2-hour examination 40% (during examination period), two listening tests equivalent to 500 words 10% (mid and end of semester), written work equivalent to 1000 words 30% (during semester), a 5-minute oral presentation equivalent to 250 words 10% (during semester), and vocabulary tests equivalent to 250 words 10% (during semester).
