Subject Overview: This subject aims to provide the foundation for safe dance teaching, in particular of the young and growing child. The musculo-skeletal system, form and function of muscle and synovial joints, and movement related to dance are studied. Postural alignment and technique faults related to injury are discussed.
Objectives:

Assessment: Participation and contribution to course work including practical work and reading (50%); written requirements written papers x 2 (40% each); glossary (10%).
