Subject Overview:

Topics covered in this subject include:

  • an introduction to property management;
  • building operations and maintenance; information bases;
  • building pathology;
  • asset management;
  • facilities management and planning;
  • sustainability issues in property management.
Objectives:

On completion of the subject students should have further developed the following skills and abilities:

  • teamwork in the analysis of property management processes;
  • the use of IT resources for property management systems;
  • understanding the principles of corporate real estate.
Assessment:
  • Staged assignments totalling 2000 words (40%);
  • One three-hour examination (60%).

A grade of at least 40% must be achieved in the final examination in order to pass the subject.
