Time Commitment: | Contact Hours: This subject is taught using multimedia teaching techniques and is based around business case studies. There is no face-to-face contact for this subject. Total Time Commitment: This subject is run over an 8-week period as opposed to a standard 12 week semester subject. It is recommended that students devote 14 hours per week to this subject over 8 weeks. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

The subject will provide an overview of the management issues associated with initiating, implementing and terminating projects. Particular emphasis will be given to the planning dimension in areas such as; project or problem selection; defining project scope; identification of project stakeholders; project scheduling; and resource allocation. A range of suitable business research methods will be introduced including relevant quantitative and qualitative approaches. Students in Project Management who are currently employed can nominate an organisationalissue or problem suitable for study, develop a brief proposal and project management method and examine related background literature. The Project Management method can also be applied to a range of other research projects.Individual partipants will work with the Subject Coordinator on the development of the problem description and proposal. |
