Course Overview:

Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs, in collaboration with the Key Centre for Women's Health in Society at the University of Melbourne, and Professor Fumi Horiguchi of Keio University, Japan, offer Japanese health professionals a fully articulated suite of three postgraduate courses in Women's Health.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Women's Health
The Postgraduate Diploma in Women's Health
The Master of Women's Health (by coursework)
All programs are part-time and are taught intensively over the Japanese summer holiday period each year. The programs are delivered in Japan and Australia and are taught and assessed in Japanese.

Objectives:

Graduates of the Postgraduate Certificate in Women’s Health will:

  • have a thorough professional preparation for graduates intending to work as clinicians, researchers, policy makers and educators in the expanding area of women’s health.
  • be better informed about women’s health
  • have an understanding that health is governed by both social and biological factors
Course Structure & Available Subjects: To satisfy the requirements of the Postgraduate Certificate students will complete subjects accumulating a total of 50 points.

Entry Requirements:

An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in medicine, an allied health profession or social science which is recognised by the University as evidence of adequate preparation for the course plus at least one year full-time relevant documented professional work experience.

Japanese Language Requirements: For the Japanese language delivery an applicant who is not a native speaker of Japanese will need to demonstrate Japanese language skills at a level comparable to the entry requirements of the major universities in Japan

English Language Requirement: For the English language delivery applicants will need to meet the University’s standard English Language requirements of IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent).
