Subject Overview:

This subject introduces students to the fundamentals of incident response and disaster recovery planning. Topics covered in this unit include the following:
• Organizing the team;
• Assessing risks in the enterprise;
• Establishing roles across departments and organizations;
• Developing policies and procedures;
• Documenting disaster recovery procedures;
• Preparing to handle disasters;
• Training, testing, and rehearsal; and
• Ongoing management.
Objectives: Students who successfully complete this subject will have demonstrated an understanding of:
• Disaster recovery planning and development
• Incident management and reporting
• Testing and rehearsal of disaster recovery plans and incident response procedures
Assessment: Two written assignments and a practical exam totalling 6000 words.
