Time Commitment: Contact Hours: Regular meetings with the supervisor over two consecutive semesters of enrolment. Usually 2 contact hours/week or as arranged with the supervisor.

Subject Overview:

A thesis on a topic approved by the French program Honours coordinator.
Objectives:
  • demonstrate mastery of research techniques and methodologies appropriate to a field of French studies
  • demonstrate the ability to devise and structure an extended and coherently argued piece of written work in French
  • contribute to the enrichment of the French studies discipline.
Assessment: A 12 000 word thesis 100% (due at the end of the second semester of enrolment).

  • Research: through frequent and systematic use of the library and other information sources, the definition of areas of inquiry and familiarisation with research methods.
